The Artist

Our Collaboration

Agus Noor

PAINTER | VISUAL STORYTELLER | SURREAL NARRATIVES

For me, painting is another way to write. But with light, color, and a silent space that says."

Agus Noor is a multidisciplinary artist based in Yogyakarta, best known for his evocative realist paintings. With a background in literature and theater, his visual art is rich in metaphor, blending poetic depth with imaginative imagery.
Each canvas unfolds like an untold story—ambiguous, emotional, and dreamlike. A prominent figure in Indonesia’s contemporary art scene, Agus continues to explore the intersection of image and narrative through painting

Bambang Heras

PAINTER | MEMORY & IDENTITY EXPLORER | RETRO-REALIST AESTHETICS

“As an artist, I have to keep working and learning even in areas that may not have been reached before.”

Bambang Herras is a Yogyakarta-based painter whose works explore themes of memory, homecoming, and emotional transformation. With a distinctive retro-inspired visual style, his paintings evoke a sense of longing and introspection. Active since the early 1990s, Bambang has exhibited widely both in Indonesia and abroad, while also engaging in community-driven art initiatives and mentoring through public workshops. His art serves as a quiet yet powerful reflection on the personal and collective experience of “returning.”

Budi Ubrux

PAINTER | MEDIA-SATIRIST | NEWSPAPER-WRAPPED FIGURES

“I want my viewers to be intrigued by the figures in my paintings and their realities that exist beyond the prints covering them.”

Budi Ubrux (b. 1968, Yogyakarta) creates haunting, faceless figures meticulously painted with newsprint—symbols of media’s manipulation and political decay. A former billboard artist in Switzerland and winner of the 2000 Philip Morris Indonesian Art Award, he continues to challenge viewers’ perceptions in international exhibitions and public works

Wasito Amnan/Sitopati

PAINTER | FIGURATIVE EXPLORER | SYMBOL & EMOTION SEEKER

“Painting, for me, is a way to decode the unseen tensions within ourselves—between instinct and culture, between the familiar and the forgotten.”

Wasito Amnan, known artistically as Sitopati, is a Yogyakarta-based painter whose emotionally charged, large-scale oil paintings explore the tension between human instinct and symbolic narrative. Through expressive brushwork and bold contrasts, his works portray evocative scenes—often involving human and animal figures—inviting reflection on power, identity, and the rituals of everyday life. Sitopati’s evolving visual language is rooted in community, tradition, and continuous exploration

Renjani Damais Arifin

PAINTER & SCULPTOR | INTROSPECTIVE FORM | EVERYDAY RESILIENCE

“My work explores the quiet strength in form—every curve and shadow speaks of resilience found in the simplicity of daily life.”

Renjani Damais Arifin is a Jakarta-born artist based in Jakarta, working across painting and sculpture. A graduate of IKJ’s fine arts sculpture program, her work—like the “Poni” series— explores personal strength, honesty, and ordinary resilience through minimalist figures. Featured in exhibitions such as Art in PITA (Sequis Centre, 2024), she draws from her sculptural roots to create intimate, reflective forms embedded in modern interior contexts
